Towards the end of 2012 I had the pleasure of spending a few hours with the Alt Design folk, these guys are a bit boom boom pow!!! If you haven’t seen their work, you really should.

RSSBACK TO TOP ^After such a busy summer and autumn of weddings, it was really nice to pick up the camera for a little stroll around Birmingham with Alex from Xander Photography. I’m really conscious as a photographer that it can be quite easy to leave the camera at home when I’m not working, but I do what I do because I love the spontaneity of little meets like this, visiting people and places that aren’t the norm. Not that Alex isn’t normal, he’s a lovely chap, but its little shoots like this that as a photographer, keep you on your toes, keep you thinking and looking for shots that you might sometimes miss. For me, there is nothing worse than seeing a shot and regretting the decision to leave my camera at home. Ok, I have an iPhone, but it’s never the same.
So, this was a pre-christmas stroll around the Custard Factory and backstreets of Digbeth, it was quite dark and moody, and we may have been asked by security to stop taking pictures of the Bullring;

RSSBACK TO TOP ^Hey Sam!! Great to see these buddy! We must meet up again at some point soon!
Your work is great Sam.
Right back at you Bart, you’ve got some amazing shots! Thanks for your kind words though.

Well, what a year that was. If 2013 is half as good, I’ll be a very lucky boy!!
I loved every minute of 2012, its been a whirlwind and I’m not really sure where its gone, but I really couldn’t have asked for more. It got off to an amazing start with the arrival of our first daughter, Betsy. We’ve had our first family holiday at centre parks (always wanted to go!!), we’ve been to Anglesey and to the Olympics!! I’ve also had the pleasure of shooting some amazing weddings with some truly wonderful people. To all of the couples who entrusted me with capturing your wedding day, a huge thank you.
Here’s a selection of some of my favourites from “last year”;
Bring on 2013!!
